Cheerleader Melissa vs. Wesna

It 's finally time for the 4th and perhaps last match between Cheerleader Melissa and Wesna who are currently tied at 1 win a piece and a draw! The battles have been brutal and we don't expect this one to be any different as both desperately want to lay claim to not only being better than the other but also to being the most dominant female in all of ChickFight! Fans in the USA say Wesna is a European version of Cheerleader Melissa while fans across Europe claim that Cheerleader Melissa is an American version of Wesna.

Jetta vs. Becky James

Jetta has been getting some serious global heat lately with rivalries with Eden Black in ChickFight and teaming up with the Home wrecking crew of Lacey and Rain in Shimmer. This time around it looks like she'll be hazing a newcomer at the genesis of her career! You're about to meet Becky James and see her very first professional match. She comes with an impressive pedigree having been trained by wrestling greats Lance Storm and Chris Jericho. You only get one first time... and Becky James is having hers right here on ChickFight!

La Nazi vs. Cheerleader Melissa

This incredible ChickFight match, in front of 2000 very excited fans, was featured on a Pro Wrestling Revolution show in Santa Maria, California. Cheerleader Melissa, not used to being the underdog, found herself out of her element against the luchadora, La Nazi, in a classic American vs. Lucha style battle! La Nazi, the Puerto Rican bad ass, is not a very nice lady. Earlier in the night she had teamed up with the Border Patrol, bent on harassing a largely Hispanic crowd. It's now up to Cheerleader Melissa to set her in her place!

Sara Del Rey vs. Sarah Stock

A dream come true for yours truly, my two favorite female wrestlers battling for the SHIMMER championship in the main event of a high-profile SHIMMER DVD. The American Angel defending against the Dark Angel, who I personally consider to be a Canadian Angel. To make this occasion all the more special, it was a rare two out of three falls contest. Thank you, SHIMMER. This is the first time I’ve ever seen Sarah Stock wrestle somebody that is anywhere near her level. This incredibly hard fought match is definitely not to be missed!

Cheerleader Melissa vs. Amazing Kong

Amazing Kong was extra pissed after a controversial loss to SHIMMER champion Sara Del Rey on Volume 15. Kong was not pinned by the champion, but instead was counted down after a high-impact exchange with Del Rey. Another loss would destroy Kong’s chances of getting a rematch with Sara Del Rey for the SHIMMER title. Melissa, on the other hand, is on a huge winning streak, and also has her eye on a future shot at the SHIMMER championship. The stakes were as high as ever in this match that is not to be missed!

Daffney Unger vs. Cindy Rogers

I know Daffney hasn’t used the “Unger” name in a long time, but I think her former WCW name is one of the coolest gimmick name’s of all-time - so, to me, she always be an Unger! Now although Daffney has been in the business for ten years now, she didn’t start wrestling serious matches until about two years ago. Everybody loves Daffney, though, including me, so we can forgive her for her technical inexperience. However, tonight she goes up against Cindy Rogers, the definition of technician, who is a tough opponent to beat and is sure to give the Scream Queen a great match!

Rain & Lacey & Jetta vs. MsChif & Daizee Haze & Eden Black

The “honorary home-wrecker” Jetta is the UK nemesis of “Jezebel” Eden Black, and there is plenty of history between Rain/Lacey and MsChif/Haze going back many years. Randon note to Dave Prazak: I want to see Eden Black vs. Portia Perez. Rain came up with the ingenious idea of wearing protective goggles to avoid getting sprayed by MsChif’s dreaded “green mist.” The three home-wreckers milked the fans for all they were worth as they couldn’t decide which one of them would start the match against MsChif.

Alexa Thatcher vs. Ashley Lane

Alexa Thatcher has had some pretty strong outings, but has yet to pick up a victory in SHIMMER competition. I like to call Thatcher every boy’s high school crush, because she just looks like that kind of girl. I can’t stress enough how good she is in the ring, though. Ashley Lane, who some may know as Lexi Lane, is a tiny skinny blond with not much experience but a whole hell of a lot to prove.

The Experience vs. Allison Danger & Serena Deeb

Fyfe and Hosaka were all-business, as they went up against a formidable team made up of SHIMMER ambassador Allison Danger and OVW star Serena Deeb. I really went overboard on praising Serena’s smokin’ body in my last review so I will not mention how incredibly hot she looks in this review. Dave Prazak got a chuckle out of me when he referred to them as “Dangerous and Deebious.” It turns out Danger and Deeb actually make a pretty good tag team, but do they got what it takes to beat the notorious "Experience"!

Portia Perez & Nicole Matthews vs. Portuguese Princess Ariel & Josie

Portia Perez is a really well seasoned heel (despite her youth), whereas British Columbia’s own Nicole Matthews still needs a little work - but being in SHIMMER will speed up that process. The rowdy fans in Berwyn did not show any welcome to the all-Canadian heel team of Perez and Matthews, who are calling themselves “Frickin’ Awesome.” Ariel and Josie however, had their own plans of knocking the cockiness out of these two in this solid preliminary match from Shimmer volume 16.

Amber O’Neal vs. Lorelei Lee

Amber O’Neal shook her hot-pink ass on the way to the ring to face “Country Girl” Lorelei Lee in the opening match of Volume 16. The Country Girl is not thin, but possesses an incredibly hard body (solid abs), as a result of her superior fitness and nutrition philosophies. Despite being one of the most experienced women in SHIMMER, Amber O’Neal has been on a very disappointing losing streak. The announcers have constantly gotten on her case about caring more about her own looks than picking up victories in SHIMMER competition.

Sara Del Rey vs. Amazing Kong

Here we go… big match atmosphere for this one folks. Kong cuts out to a hugely positive reaction, which is no surprise given her status with literally every fan in the building on their feet. I still think, even here, Sara looks too friendly and settled, although she does make some attempt to look a little more focused for Kong. Kong looks terrifying. Unbelievable match. The fans really helped with the atmosphere of this one, as it felt like an absolutely crucial effort right from the get go. The build-up to Sara’s big spots was like a dictionary definition as to how to get moves over.

Daizee Haze vs. Sarah Stock

Positive reactions for both ladies, which is no shock .Sarah has quickly become one of the favorites on the roster, thanks to her sterling work, but Daizee is still a sentimental favorite. They start the match with some mat-wrestling, including an array of arm-drags from Sarah, and headlocks from Daizee, and it’s some beautifully fluid stuff. Superb bout. Really enjoyable stuff, and in terms of pace, blows away everything else on the show that has came before. Stock is just an absolute revelation, and Daizee is a really underrated performer.

Allison Danger vs. Cindy Rodgers

This maybe the match that puts to rest the Allison Danger vs. Cindy Rodgers feud that has been growing in the past four or five Shimmer volumes. This is a heated brawl with some great technical wrestling, Cindy's abilities here are definitely world class! At 12 minutes, this match may seem shorter than their usual epic sized battles but easily encapsulates and summarizes the feud to this point. A must see for all those following this rivalry!

Cheerleader Melissa vs. Sarah Stock

This is Shimmer's first tournament, and the winner is to be crowned the first ever Shimmer champion. Stock is a Canadian who wrestles full-time in Mexico. She is the "international wildcard" in the title tournament.

Allison Danger called Stock a "lucha superstar." Unfortunately, her first opponent is Cheerleader Melissa. Can Stock cause an upset?

The Minnesota Homewrecking Crew vs Ariel & Josie

On paper, this looks to me like an easy excuse to put the MHWC over. But, Ariel has gained a lot of steam in terms of popularity lately, and Josie has improved immeasurably through her past couple of appearances, so we’ll see how it plays out. Rain has become so ridiculously charismatic recently, she’s becoming one of my favorites on the roster. She has this crazy range of demented, and slightly evil, but also oddly hot facial expressions, that she puts to really good use in this solid match from Shimmer!

Cheerleader Melissa vs. Alexa Thatcher

Another good match here kids. Both ladies are fan favorites here in SHIMMER, so the crowd is split early. Even with both ladies being faces, they kept the crowd active the whole way through. Thatcher isn’t “on Melissa’s level” so to speak, but she definitely showed her determination and strength going up against Melissa and holding her own. Great technical wrestling from both ladies and some nice outside brawling for flavor adding up to a very solid match!

Eden Black vs. Amber O'neal

Good reaction for Eden Black, and the typical response to Shimmer’s Barbie Girl, Amber O’Neal. This strikes me as a fine choice for the opening contest, as fans usually find Black energetic and uplifting. As I’m watching it occurs to me that the English lass is actually retiring soon, and will face Jetta in her last ever match. Although I’ve been somewhat critical of Black before, it’s still sad to see a performer on the rise, who is young, keenly learning, and improving constantly, have to bow out thanks to injuries.

Jetta vs. Serena Deeb

Ahh the sounds of Girls Aloud. That can only mean Jetta is on her way. No reaction at first for the Coventry lass, as the fans clearly knew little of her at the time of this taping, but that would soon change, as she’s a fantastic prospect. Jetta has the crowd all over within seconds, and Deeb is a lively fan favorite. At one point, Danger hilariously says “I don’t speak British” on commentary, in response to Jetta’s thick Coventry accent. Some basic Arm Wringers and Wrist looks commence the action, and both women jostle for position for some time. Solid wrestling.

Portia Perez & Nicole Matthews vs Lorelei Lee & Ashley Lane

As per usual, at the beginning, a fan can be heard shouting that Portia is “Five years old”. I’d say closer to 12 maybe… Anyways, I think Portia comes across far more impressively when paired with someone. It brings out her cocky little-person aggressiveness. Matthews is much more laid back. The action kicks off with some strikes by Portia, followed by some quick tagging that sees Ashley Lane pull off a couple of impressive arm-drags. Soon though, she finds herself being worked over much to the enjoyment of the heels.
